FAQ
FAQ
Q When is the Helsinki Festival?

A The Helsinki Festival runs this year from August 17 to September 2.

Q Where can I buy tickets for Helsinki Festival events?

A Tickets for Helsinki Festival events went on sale at Lippupiste on April 25. You can book tickets by phone seven days a week between 7 am and 10 pm, tel. (within Finland) 0600 900 900 (€1.50/min + local call charge) and pick them up at any Lippupiste outlet. The box offices at the events themselves open one hour before the start. You cannot book tickets via the Festival office phone.

Q Can I buy a student ticket online?

A Yes, but be prepared to show your student card at the door. For further details of online booking see the Lippupiste and Lippupalvelu websites.

Q Where is the Meripuisto circus tent and how do I get there?

A The Meripuisto circus tent is at Ullanlinna near Kaivopuisto Park, address Merikatu 9 / Merisatamanranta 4-8. The easiest way to get there is to take the blue Helsinki City bus 17 and get off at the Merikatu end stop. Trams 3B and 3T will also take you near the Meripuisto. Get off at the Neitsytpolku stop and head for the sea down Neitsytpolku.

Q Where is the Huvila Festival Tent and how do I get there?

A The Huvila Festival Tent will be erected at Tokoinranta, by the Helsinki City Theatre, in mid-August. The easiest way to get there is by public transport. Get off at Hakaniemi Square and head past the round Ympyrätalo building for the City Theatre and the Linnunlaulu villas.

Q Is there anywhere to leave my coat at the Huvila Festival Tent?

A There are no coat racks or other facilities for leaving coats. The evenings are sometimes chilly in late summer so we recommend you dress warmly for concerts at the Festival Tent.

Q Can I bring my under-age brother and sister to concerts at the Huvila Festival Tent?

A Because there is alcohol on sale at the Huvila Festival Tent the minimum age limit is 18 years. The exception is Family Day, when there is no age limit.

Q Does the Helsinki Festival sell refreshments?

A The Helsinki Festival does not sell refreshments at its events. At some venues, such as Finlandia Hall and the Huvila Festival Tent, the house restaurant sells interval refreshments. The Huvila Festival Tent restaurant has a menu that changes each day and it is fully licensed.
The Helsinki City Real Estate Department issues permits for sale in the streets. No permits are issued for the Night of the Arts.
